Anxiety Disorders
These are mental conditions characterized by feelings of worry, anxiety or fear, that are strong enough to interfere with one’s daily activities.
Persons with anxiety disorders often have anxious thoughts and behaviours such as believing the worst will happen, persistent worry, seeking reassurance and second-guessing.
Physical symptoms of anxiety disorders include;
Light-headedness
- Sweating
- Nausea
- Restlessness
- Shortness of breath
- Diarrhoea
- Getting easily fatigued.
What to do for someone suffering from anxiety disorder;
- Express concern
- Don’t enable
- Don’t force confrontation
- Provide validation
